Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a clinical subject dealing especially with traditional Chinese diagnosis and treatment of the diseases and disorders of the viscera of the human body under the guidance of TCM theory. With its systematical theories of syndrome differentiation and treatment, internal medicine of TCM is the basis of various clinical sciences.
This book introduces the basic theories of Chinese internal medicine, the basic knowledge of common internal diseases and the lay of syndrome differentiation and treatment. It includes two parts: Introduction and Treatment of Diseases. The former deals with the Classification and Characteristics of Internal Diseases, the Procedure and Principles of Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment, and the Therapeutic Principles and Commonly-used Methods for Internal Diseases of TCM; and the latter according to TCM theory, are divided into 8 chapters: Syndrome Patterns of the Lung, Syndrome Patterns of the Heart, Syndrome Patterns of the Spleen and Stomach, Syndrome Patterns of the Liver and Gallbladder, Syndrome Patterns of the Kidney, Syndrome Patterns of Qi, Blood, and Body Fluid, General Disease and Acropathy, and Other Diseases. Introduced in the latter part are 47 kinds of syndrome patterns, including the General Description, Essentials for Diagnosis, and Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment. Other Treatments such as Chinese Patent Drugs, Single-drug or Experiential Prescriptions and External Therapy are also introduced. As for the knowledge of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Chinese Tuina Therapy, and Life Cultivation and Rehabilitation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, there are specific books to cover these aspects.
