Massaging these 5 points on your palms can relieve cold symptoms:

1. Hégǔ L.I. 4 (合谷穴)

Location: On the back of the hand, at the midpoint of the radial side of the first and second metacarpal bones (the base of the thumb).

Technique: Finger pressure (press the acupoints with a finger pressure stick) + kneading (knead the acupoints clockwise)

2. Quchi L.I. 11(曲池穴)

Location: Located on the outside of the elbow. When the elbow is bent, the Quchi acupoint is located at the midpoint of the line connecting the end of the elbow transverse line and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus (there is a bone protrusion when the elbow is bent).

Technique: Finger pressure method (aim the acupoint with a finger pressure stick and press it) + kneading method (knead the acupoint clockwise)

3. Lung 11 (LU 11) - Shaoshang or Lesser Metal (鼻部反射區)

Location: On the back of the hand, below the thumb nail, near the inner 1/2 area.

Technique: Rubbing (align the side of the massage stick with the acupuncture point) + Sliding (use the end of the massage stick to slide the skin surface from bottom to top)

4. GanMaoEr T 88.08 (感冒二穴)

Location: On the thigh, 1 cun medial to and same level with Je mae sam (88.06) , in a depression 13 cun proximal to the superior border of the patella.

Technique: Finger pressure method (aim the acupoint with a finger pressure stick and press it) + kneading method (knead the acupoint clockwise)

5. ChongZi T22.01 (重子穴)

Location: approximately 1 cun below the skin fold at the thumb and palm along the edge of the 1st metacarpal bone. Another way to describe this is at the intersection of the C line of the index finger and a line drawn perpendicularly from the joint line at the base of the thumb to the C line.

Technique: Finger pressure method (aim the acupoint with a finger pressure stick and press it) + kneading method (knead the acupoint clockwise)
